An Institute-wide hub to help the MIT community use AI thoughtfully in teaching, learning, research, and training.
Purpose
Practical support for a changing academic environment
Generative AI is changing how students learn, how instructors design subjects, and how researchers work. The Hub is intended to support the use of AI across MIT so that faculty, students, postdocs, and staff can use these tools effectively in teaching, learning, research, and training.
The work of the Hub will focus on community learning, responsible use, access to appropriate tools, course support, research training, and shared guidance for departments and subjects.

What the Hub will support
Course redesign support
Seed support for faculty and instructional teams revising assignments, assessments, learning goals, and course materials.
AI policy guidance
Templates and examples that help instructors and departments set clear expectations for AI use in subjects and academic work.
Research training
Practical training for students, postdocs, and staff on AI methods, reproducibility, responsible deployment, and appropriate use of research computing resources.
Compute and tool access
Coordination with campus partners to improve access to AI tools, platforms, and computing resources for education and research.
Institute convenings
Public lectures, workshops, and campus events that bring MIT communities together around AI, education, research, and society.
